Girl's Trip | Atlanta

Atlanta Blog

I’ve literally never had a bad time in Atlanta. I try to go a few times a year because Atlanta is one of my favorite places to visit... Mostly because my best friend lives there. So when my other best friend said she was going, I knew it was time for a trip... a girls trip!

My friend, Brittany, lives right outside of Metro Atlanta in a town called Covington. Covington, GA is known as the Hollywood of the south. So many things have been filmed there, but the only one I really care about is Vampire Diaries 😜

To start off our trip, after leaving the airport of course, was dinner in Covington Square at the Mystic Grill. My FAVORITE meal at the mystic grill is the grilled cheese with cranberry jam 🤤 Unfortunately it’s only a lunch item so keep that in mind! But all of the food is delicious so you can’t go wrong.

I’ve also eaten at City Pharmacy which is also locally owned. Their menu changes often, but I’ve never had a bad meal there. If you’re looking for delectable food, Covington Square has you covered.

Day two was full of nature, snacks, and lots of walking. Our first stop was Amicalola Falls - which is a short, but steep hike to the top of Georgia's highest waterfall. The hike is 2.1 miles round trip and you gain 725 ft elevation - mostly by stairs. We had a great time laughing and snacking on this hike. We took plenty of breaks, so don’t feel bad if you have to too. 😜

Next, we went to Helen, GA which is the cutest little German town stuck right in the middle of Georgia. We parked by a general store, explored, and ate too many desserts. Helen was packed full of people in the best way.

We ended the long weekend with dinner at Ponce City Market, specifically the 9 Mile Station, the Georgia Aquarium, and the World of Coca-Cola.

Ponce City Market is an amazing place! They have covered, paid parking under the building and behind. It’s full of cute shops and eateries... of which we have tried many: batter, honeysuckle gelato, minero, nine mile station, saint germain, and ton ton. All of which were soooooooo good. Plus, they have an entire roof area with carnival games, putt putt, corn hole, a slide, snacks, a bar, and more! And after 8 pm, it turns into adults only.

The Georgia Aquarium is the #1 aquarium in the USA and 3rd in the world. They have beluga whales, whale sharks, an entire shark section, and more! I have been three times now, and I can say that it never gets old. I love the dolphin show and the seal show. It’s just a really fun place to go!

You can't miss out on the Coca-Cola musuem. It is full of interactive activities for all ages! They have a tasting room, 4D theater, smell room, secret vault, and a movie in the beginning that makes me cry every time.

Every time we go to the Coke Museum or Aquarium, we made a stop at Johnny Rockets which is perfectly within walking distance. A milkshake and loaded tots are always a must.

Everyone and everything in Georgia is so nice and genuinely wonderful. Can't wait to go back! If you have any tips or fun stories from any of these places, let me know in the comments!

Cheers,

Gabby
